Born and brought up in Bournemouth but with close links to Poole as we had fishermen in the family. I spent lots of my childhood in and around theharbour messing about in boats. Lived away for a few years but came back as soon as I could. I can’t live far from the sea.
Approved as a skipper for Dolphin, in 2019. I enjoy being on Dolphin because of the opportunity to take people out who would not normally have this chance. I have RYA “Yachtmaster Coastal” and RYA PB2 qualifications. Started boating and sailing more than 55 years ago: Kayak/dinghies/day boats/cruising yacht. Owned a small cruising yacht for more than 10 years, and now owner of a Cornish Shrimper at Poole Yacht Club.
I am a RNLI Safety Advisor, RNLI Poole Lifeboat Station visits team member, and RNLI Poole member of the lifeboat management group. I am also involved with the Guide Dog Association (we have a puppy in 1st year training).
